Frequently Asked Questions

Do you shoot weddings?

No, I do not shoot weddings. I have in the past and I enjoy them very much, but in my constant search for balance as an entrepreneur and mother, I have come to the conclusion that weddings are not a good fit for me at this time.

What is your favorite thing to photograph?

People! I love photographing people. Every type of session I offer, I thoroughly enjoy! (That’s not an accident.) But to narrow it down a bit more, my absolute favorites are Dancers and Women.

What gear do you own?

What editing software do you use?

Lightroom and Photoshop. (Mostly Lightroom)

Do you have a studio?

No. (Though that would be nice sometimes.) Most of my sessions are done outdoors or on location and I do all my post process editing at home. When I need to set up a backdrop and lights, I do so in my basement. It’s not creepy! I promise!

How do you do it? How do you juggle 3 kids, and still manage to run a business?

I’m not gonna lie. It’s HARD. And I often (constantly) question whether or not I’m capable of doing this. I am not a business person and I feel inferior to anyone who seems to know what they are doing. But my motto is “head down, move forward”. Some very important things I’ve learned are: have good time management, don’t compare myself to others, listen to advice, trust my own intuition (which doesn’t always follow the advice), know when to say “no”, and failure is one more step to success as long as I keep moving forward.  Oh, and sleep! Go to bed at a reasonable time at night. Sleep is not over-rated! It’s absolutely necessary!
